When Is the Church Going to Demonstrate?

Updated: Jun 6, 2020

“I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this EVERYONE WILL KNOW that you are My disciples, IF YOU HAVE love and unselfish concern for one another.” (Jn 13:34-35) (AMP)(Emphasis)

There are countless numbers of demonstrators during this racial crisis. There are many social justice groups, political activists’ organizations, civil rights groups peacefully demonstrating everyday for political, social, economic, and civil change in our country. There are violent and malicious criminals who are demonstrating as well. But everyone is watching, looking, and hoping to find a visible representation of power that can demonstrate an unselfish, genuine type of caring for ALL human beings.

When “EVERYONE”, the culture, looks at the contemporary church's response to the racial divide in America, what do they see?

  • Do they see the church being the answer to selfish and political interest over righteousness?

  • Do they see Black churches and White churches visibly demonstrating to the culture “genuine love for one another”?

  • Do they see there is a common Savior that we confess to be Lord of All?

Know This!

For the culture to see and “KNOW” that Christians are His Disciples and that Jesus is the solution to the sinful racial divide they need to see a demonstration by the Black church and the White church! A demonstration that visibly highlight the:

  • Commitment - to our Faith and declare Jesus Christ as Lord

  • Confession - of the sins of slavery, racism, anger and un-forgiveness

  • Contrition - for our the actions of our ancestors

  • Courage - given through the power of the Holy Spirit to speak out and stand-up

  • Compassion - and caring for the oppressed and the victimized

  • Complete - and open display of the Love of Jesus across the racial divide
